FAQs

  • Do I need to be Welsh?

No - while historically the men's team had Welsh heritage requirements, the women's team welcomes players of all backgrounds. You just need to be able to locate Wales on a map! We do have many players with Welsh connections who enjoy the home-from-home atmosphere at the club.

  • Do I need previous rugby experience?

No - we welcome complete beginners and have dedicated coaching support to help you learn the game. We take extra care with the skills that might seem intimidating at first, like tackling and scrumming, using progressive drills and proper technique to build your confidence safely.

  • Is there a membership fee?

Annual membership includes RFU insurance, match fees, and club social events. Payment plans available. Please see [membership link]

  • What if I'm relocating to London?

We have many players who joined after moving to London. Our club community can help with everything from finding accommodation to social connections. Get in touch, and ask how we can help.

  • What's the standard of rugby like?

We play in NC2 South East (West), which is a competitive but friendly league. Our focus is on developing players while maintaining high performance standards.

  • Can I try a few sessions before committing?

Yes! We encourage new players to come along to 2-3 training sessions to get a feel for the club and team before making any commitments.

  • What social activities do you organise?

We have regular social events including team dinners, pub nights, annual tours, and club-wide events. We're known for our welcoming atmosphere both on and off the pitch.

  • I can't make every training session - is that okay?

While we encourage regular attendance, we understand that work and life commitments can impact availability. Communication is key - just keep your captain informed.

  • Do you have changing facilities?

Yes, we have dedicated women's changing rooms with showers at Old Deer Park, plus access to all club facilities including the clubhouse and bar.
