Relegation from London 2 North West completed a tough season for Tabard. Just three wins and four bonus points left them bottom of the table, 24 points adrift from safety and having conceded over 800 more points than they scored. The five month gap between their first and second victories saw some substantial score lines against them, the heaviest of these being 104-0 against Hemel Hempstead. It is huge credit to the club that despite conceding an average of 46 points per match they fulfilled every league fixture and have started this season playing a positive style of rugby.
The first week of the season saw Old Merchant Taylors’ travel to Tabard and take a 27-5 win but Tabard more than bounced back the following Saturday with a nine try haul at local rivals Verulamians, holding their opposition pointless in the second half for a 51-9 final score. Tabard’s try scorers were led by their number 8, Aaron Priscott, who ran in four of the nine with winger Charlie Sandison adding two more. Centre Aled Davies, full back Deniyi Olashore and second row George Hurford scored one try each.
London Welsh lead London 2 North West with two bonus point wins, the latest being a 47-5 win against Kilburn Cosmos at Old Deer Park last Saturday. Read the match report here.
