The chance for a run-out on Rosslyn Park’s main pitch was too good an opportunity to miss and therefore it’s a late start for the Druids this Saturday. The Bs are one of Rosslyn Park’s two teams in MMT Premier and have proved the more successful so far this season with three wins from their five matches. Their season opened with a 36-21 victory against London Cornish 2 and the next two games saw progressively bigger winning margins with a 38-0 home win over Old Habs 2s and then 50-5 ‘away’ to Rosslyn Park’s 4th XV. Fortunes changed in the last two rounds of fixtures with defeats at home to Belsize Park 2s (7-24) and at HAC 2 (48-14). Although they are one place ahead of the Druids in the league table Druids have two games in hand.

It has been a  storming start to the season for our Druids team. Averages of just under 50 points scored per game and 10 against clearly demonstrated the quality and ambition across the performance squad and these figures would be even more impressive if the opening game hadn’t been brought to an early end. This Saturday will also be a perfect opportunity for players to catch the eye of Cai Griffiths, our Director of Rugby, as the 1st XV are without a game and Druids’ coach Paul Bessant is taking a well-deserved weekend off.

Sixteen different players have scored Druids’ 24 tries and these points have been topped up by 14 conversions. No penalty kicks at goal have been taken so far, again showing the desire to keep the ball in hand and get over the try line. Come along to The Rock this Saturday and give our Druids your support as they look to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
