Chiswick 2s make the trip to ODP on Saturday to face the Druids in their MMT Premier fixture.
It’s been far from the best of starts for our riparian neighbours. A sole victory over London Cornish 2s in the second round of matches showed some promise after a 15-45 defeat at home to Hammersmith & Fulham 2s in the opening week but they were unable to field a team for the next four games. Last weekend saw a 12-15 defeat by HAC 2s and left Chiswick rooted at the foot of the table.
Meanwhile our Druids team are flying high. Just two points separate them from Hammersmith & Fulham but Druids have a game in hand and a vastly superior points difference averaging over 45 points per game in their favour and less than 11 against. Last Saturday’s match on Rosslyn Park’s 4G pitch suited Druids’ attacking approach. The 34-12 bonus point win included an early contender for the try of the season that started from an interception deep in the Rosslyn Park half and Barbarians-style play to take the the ball up the pitch to score in the corner. The match was played under the watch of Cai Griffiths and will make this weeks selection of the 1st XV and Druids even tougher than normal.
Kick off has been confirmed for 1pm so come along early to ODP and give the Druids your support.
