On Saturday August 17th, London Welsh pay a long overdue visit to the Gnoll, renewing a relationship that has seen so many unforgettable encounters over the years and this game, pre-season friendly as it may be, will lack nothing in commitment and competitiveness from both sides.
5,000 people attended the ex-Welsh international Paul James’s testimonial at the Gnoll last Saturday, with many former Neath stalwarts turning out to play, proving that Neath is still a hotbed of Welsh rugby. Our own Cai Griffiths was one of the former Neath players who turned out to honour Paul James and celebrate his illustrious career.
Neath, similar to London Welsh, has faced significant challenges over recent years, but the way both clubs have reacted positively in the face of adversity indicates the passion, resilience and aspiration that both clubs possess to strive and regain past glories.
It should prove a memorable experience all round!
