LW Minis 2024 Colours Evening

We enjoyed a glorious evening at Old Deer Park for our Minis’ end of season Colours Night.  It is always a great sight to see the Pagoda Room filled with the Minis’ players, coaches and parents and the annual award of the Colours and age grade trophies.  Our players enjoyed one last opportunity to get together before the summer break.  As well as celebrating the teamwork, commitment and skills of our players, our Colours Night also gives us the opportunity to say goodbye to a number of our players and coaches.  Our U12s graduate from our Minis section and move up to youth rugby – what a great group they have been and we wish them well for next season.  We also said goodbye to stalwarts of our Minis section such as Danny (U12s) who leaves us after 6yrs at the club, and Tilly & Isla who leave our U11s to go off and play for London Irish girls next season.  We also say farewell to a number of our brilliant coaches – Jo Holdaway and Simon Willoughby move on from our U11 coaching team – a huge thank you to both.  And the Minis will also unfortunately have to say goodbye to Brendan McWeeney, who has been an integral part of running the section for a number of years, as his u12s move up to  Youth rugby. Brendan has been central to making the Minis what it is today – thank you Brendan.

London Welsh Minis is a special place for children to play rugby, primarily thanks to the group of committed and skilled coaches and team managers, who make every Sunday morning a fun experience; where children learn to play rugby in a friendly and supportive environment.

Well done to our all our Minis for their commitment through the season and congratulations on getting your club colours.

Congratulations to our U12s who graduate from Minis and move up to Colts next season.
Goodbye Danny after 6yrs in our Minis
We said goodbye to Tilly & Isla who will go off to play girls rugby at London Irish.
A big thank you to Brendan for all that you have contributed to the Minis section at London Welsh – you will be missed.
