JPR Williams in memoriam

All at the club have been shocked and devastated at the news that former London Welsh; Wales and British Lions legend JPR Williams has passed away aged 74.

JPR began his career at Bridgend RFC, moving to London and to play for St Mary’s Hospital in 1967. It was from here, he came to play at London Welsh from 1968 until 1976. During his career at Welsh, he was selected for the winning 1971 British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand – one of 7 players from our club.

An incredible man, who was a credit to the game and the teams he represented. He will be sorely missed by so many and we send out heartfelt condolences to all those who knew him, but especially to his family.
