A skilful UCSOB side gave London Welsh 1st XV a very tough encounter at Old Deer Park, but London Welsh gained revenge for their only loss of the season with a bonus point win.
Scrum half Elis Staines opened the try scoring under the posts with a nice burst from the base of the ruck. London Welsh winger David Gabe was then sent to the sin bin for a deliberate knock as UCSOB threatened, which killed some of the London Welsh momentum. However, the ever impressive Welsh No8 Tyron Pelasio ran in a superb try from the halfway line to put Welsh in control, showing nice hands and a show & go getting the crowd on its feet.
UCSOB refused to lie down and responded with two penalties to be in at contention at 15 - 6 at half time.
Prop Mark Weir opened the second half scoring for Welsh with a classic rolling maul. UCSOB again responded, with a try of their own were always in touching distance. But the game was won with a lovely London Welsh backs move, started by Rhys Howells and with Rhys Davies prominent full back Rory Noble crossed under the posts.
Final score London Welsh 25 - 18 UCSOB.
A good hard match fought between two skilful sides. Well done to all the players.
