Having, as it were, taken five paces forward with their brilliant display against Wellington on Saturday, the touring British Lions yesterday took four paces backward

They defeated the combined team from South Canterbury, mid-Canterbury and North Otago unions, 25-6, BT they suffered many hastening experiences

Lions Give Their Worst Display But Still Score Five Tries

Most rugby teams have an off day, and the Lions had theirs against the Hanan Shield Districts here today, although they won 25-6, scoring five tries to none. The Lions led 16-3 at half time.

T. G. R. Davies made his first appearance on New Zealand soil, made an impressive debt, scoring two tries in yesterday's match. He joined the team this week after staying behind in Britain to complete his exams.
