Director of Rugby Cai Griffiths has revealed his Pre-Season schedule, which includes two tough training fixtures.
Training begins on 18th July at Old Deer Park with the first pre season fixture on Saturday 17th August away at Neath RFC KO 12 midday, before Welsh then travel to Thurrock RFC on the 31st of August.
Pre-Season has been notoriously tough in the last 2 seasons since the change in guard at the club in 2017, a new board of Directors, a new coaching team and a 5 year plan.
London Welsh Head of Strength and Conditioning Will Taylor (former Ospreys and Wasps) will oversee a mixture of conditioning, endurance and skills under fatigue training in the first 4 week block, before strategy and game orientated training begins in block 2 onwards. Training will be mixed for optimum impact and sees the sessions run in a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday rotation. The squad are particularly looking forward the impact of Steve Shingler (ex Cardiff Blues and current Ealing RFC) in his new role as the performance squad backs coach.
We look forward to updating you as pre season progresses on new arrivals and signings to the playing squad to compliment the already talented group.
The RFU league fixtures will be announced in June and we will update on club media platforms once the schedule for London NW 2 is live. The first league fixture will be the weekend of 7 September.
