Our Choirboys really are part of the team !

By The Official London Welsh

Attendances this season benefit from our world famous Choir.

Huge thanks have to go to the London Welsh Rugby Club Choir. Our attendance at both the popular sell-out lunches and for the action on the pitch has benefited enormously from having the generous support they give us, our guests and supporters on match day with their rousing performances. Their performances regularly bring tears to passionate eyes and a tingle up the spine of both home and away supporters.

There really is nothing better by way of celebration than a great chorus - and it’s not just us that think so - the choir's shower concert in the upstairs changing rooms and other impromptu social media performances at the club have generated well over 500k views this season alone, with many across London, Wales and the national press sharing our content. Lots of our followers ‘Come for the Rugby and stay for the Choir!’. This does not happen at any other club! (Let us know if you think otherwise and we'll arrange a sing off!)

As well as their contribution at Old Deer Park they are busy with other events, including many performances on and around St Davids Day. Just last week The London Welsh Choir were the warm up for the audience for Sir Tom Jones at the Outward Bound Easter Ball! True celebrity! Joined by sports presenter Clare Balding and others.

The organisers of the Outward Bound Easter Ball wanted a warm-up act for the great Sir Tom, and they could choose no better than The London Welsh Rugby Club Choir for their Welsh themed charity evening at the famous Claridges Ballroom in Mayfair. Outward Bound is a charity that offers outdoor experiences and their mission is to change lives through challenge and discovery. The Choir were proud to be involved and in their fundraising efforts.

They are a busy bunch and the next concert is with the Flint Ladies Choir - a 50-strong choir formed 6 years ago as a community choir for the people of Flinshire. The joint concert takes place on Saturday 27th April at the London Welsh Centre on the Grays Inn Road London WC1. It promises to be an outstanding event!
