London Welsh Women raring to go for 2018/19 season

By Alice Gayner

Pre-season starts 18/07- all welcome!

London Welsh Women are heading back to training after a well-earned break, following their league topping performance last season.

Pre-season training will kick off on Wednesday 18th July at 7.15pm at Pools in the Park, Richmond, and the team are hoping to be joined by some new recruits from their recent RFU Inner Warrior sessions, as well as anyone who's looking for a new team, or indeed a completely new challenge.

The 18th will also mark the first session with new coach, Michael Griffiths, who takes the reins from outgoing coach Paul Braithwaite who is moving on to pastures new after 2 very successful seasons coaching LWWRFC. The team are looking forward to working with Michael to build on the great platform established last season, again pushing for a first place finish.

Pre-season training will focus on basic skills, and rugby fitness, catering for all levels and helping the team get back into the swing of things, before the 2018/2019 season kicks off in earnest in the Autumn.

London Welsh will again face Portsmouth Valkyries, Reading, Witney, Rosslyn Park and Windsor, with another trip down the A3 to Havant, and a trip across the Channel to Guernsey added to this season's fixtures.
